I am the guest prompter for Nancy Stohlman’s FlashNano challenge today. You can find the link to her website here.
The prompt is:
Day 13: Pull a tarot card and use the imagery to write. (If you do not have a tarot deck, Google a tarot image to use)
This is the card I pulled for my own story today. I made a list of words that came to mind when looking at the image from the card. This deck is one I use for creativity.

The story I wrote has a bit of a fairy tale feel which I am currently obsessed with. I have been reading Erin Morgenstern’s Flax Golden 10 line stories on her website for magical inspiration lately.
The words/phrases I wrote down in my notebook were:
clock tower
top steeple falling
swarm of crows
XVI
trees like veins
lightening
fire on the ground
swarm
bees
gray
rain (unusual rain? what would that be?)
What will you write today?
I have written something for each day in November. Most of them are complete stories, but definite drafts for NANOWRIMO.
In other news…
I received an email that my story, Magic Garden, is being published in Shorts Magazine on November 20th. You can hop over to my Books and Publications page to check out the link. You can find links to my other stories there as well.
Congrats on the publication of your short story Tammy!!
Also, it’s so strange that I’m reading a book called The Once and Future Witches by Alice E Harrow right now and this exact Tower features in the book!!
