Weekend Coffee Share

A Cup of Coffee and a Conversation

The first weekend of October – here we are. The temperature are cooler and I am thankful.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I did a lot of personal development work this week. It began with a reflection exercise from The Artist’s Way which lead to identity work I learned this summer. It is time to level up.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I held my Conversation Workshop Chat with my community Monday night which was fun. It was fascinating to hear everyone talk about the surprising elements of the conversations and what they learned to apply moving forward. The conversation about conversation was life giving to me.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you my kindergartners did great writing this week which was noticed by some other teachers. I was so proud of them! They believe they are writers which is part of the mindset work I teach them.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you it was cool this week and we had chicken noodle soup and homemade bread which was delightful. The walk that day was chilly so the soup was a perfect compliment.

If we were having coffee, I would ask you – Do you subscribe to my newsletter yet? If not, click here.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you to write today for ten minutes. See what happens. Don’t overthink it.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I revised writing this week. I am finishing the revisions on my #100dayproject piece so I will be sending that out to my Patreon supporters first, and then submitting it. My goal is to submit 5 pieces the month of October. I also worked on my Jack story which is a NANOWRIMO creation. NANO is next month – are you participating in National Novel Writing Month? Many writers I know are heavy into the planning for this month long writing sprint!

If we were having coffee, I would wish you peace and fulfillment to your life. Be well.

  1. Hi! Great to hear about your little ones. I really miss my toddlers. Where I work is closed until next year, at which point I hope that they will rehire me. Nano – Oh, my goodness, yes! I’m planning to participate… may be just what I need to get out of the writing funk I’ve been in since I was sick in March. I’ve struggled, really struggled to write anything, including correspondence with my pen pals. I love pen pals, don’t you?

    • I do love pen pals! I started letter writing again last month and it has been delightful. I do feel the need to look for more stationery and pretty paper though!
Maybe do part of your NANO projects as letters.

      • I have written an entire book in the form of letters. A memoir of sorts. Years ago, I did an entire series, a chapter per letter with my boys. They’ve long since outgrown such things, though. I am a collector of postcards from the far reaches of our world. Love the unique little glimpse they provide.
