Mirror Of Light

A Poem

Photo by Tasha Kamrowski on Pexels.com

My mantra is
The light.
Fire people are drawn to
A lighthouse
Attract but
Do not chase

The dulling comes
Fire extinguished.
Who are you?
They asked.
You are not you.
The soul was stomped

Deer around me stop and stare
Frozen in surprise
Off being seen and

I need a mirror
To refract the colors
Not the clarity
Which is
Too blinding.

Words float and
Follow the trail of connection
A light bulb
A candle
Some people need a dimmer

Books are the intensity
Beams of knowledge
Potential power
Illuminations of ideas
That are luminescence in the dark and
Shine for me,
Gleam for me,
The sunrise of my
Beautiful state.

This poem was written inspired by the work at OCTPOWRIMO.
