Weekend Coffee Share

A Cup of Coffee and a Conversation

Welcome to the weekend! It is almost 90 here again today but I still have my hot black coffee! Let’s visit inside with the A/C today.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I had a flat this week on my car and had to get a new tire. I went to Discount Tire which has been a wonderful company. I have been going there for years and have been happy each and every time. They have great warranties and are always polite and never pushy. This isn’t a paid advertisement, I just love their service and prices. For this incident, whatever I hit went straight through the tire and the rim making a large hole. I am thankful it just required a new tire and rim and not cause more damage to the car.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I connected with another kindergarten teacher who has an amazing blog and podcast. You can find her here: https://creativekindergartenblog.com/. She just did a YouTube training about making a checklist in Google Sheets and it was amazing! I made it while she was talking and I am so excited to use it. I can just duplicate it and save myself so much time this school year. I always find what she shares valuable and useful. Her idea of the blueprint book at my block center was just one of the ideas I incorporated after listening to her podcast.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you we went camping. This trip was a bit off-center. We were not able to take our boat because it wasn’t repaired yet. When we arrived at the campground there was some confusion about our trailer and where to put it. Then we went to our space and the neighbors decided to help themselves to our electricity and water hookups. The front office called them and they disconnected it but didn’t say a word even though he walked right past us. It was rude. The campfire is one of my favorite parts. They had a wonderful pool and inflatable playground in the river which the kids used. The sunsets were gorgeous. We rented a boat for Friday and was able to go tubing. It was perfect weather. When we came back to the site it was super hot and the tents were like ovens. When the reservations were made we thought there was wifi which was not the case. In addition to that, the mobile data didn’t work either. Being disconnected isn’t a bad thing, but that was not the thought process going into the trip. At the end of the day, we decided to come back early because everyone was tired and the next day was predicted to be 90 degrees. All the kids were amazing getting everything packed and then unpacked and back into the house.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you my email got hacked. Luckily, I was at the end of my workout and almost home when I started getting hit with the emails so only ended up with about 600 random signups, not 6,000. I was able to go in and change all the passwords and change almost everything to two-step verification.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I wrote every day. I have not been writing as aggressively this month on purpose. I have a big course starting on the 24th of August so will have to dedicate a lot of time to specific assignments. I am working on goals and systems for coming back to the person I am at my essence.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you this week seemed packed and full of item warps but the sun is shining and it is still July!

If you haven’t signed up for my newsletter yet, you can do so here. There is a book giveaway for new subscribers if you sign up before July 30th!

I am hosting another free workshop on July 29th at 7pm Central. It is about personality types, relationships and communication! Teachers and friends of teachers are welcome. You can also sign up by going here: https://mailchi.mp/e9fd7ea01b99/wwpersonality

  1. Wait – Tammy, you say whatever took out your tire also went through the rim…? Gracious! I’ve never heard of that happening before. I would advise you to immediately discontinue running over stuff made from elements near the bottom of the periodic table. Things down there can be scary hard. I’m so glad the damage and danger stopped at that rim. I’m with you on the sentiment about rude people who think only of themselves. We all leave wakes as we boat about life. I prefer to leave a wake of grace and peace. Sounds like your neighbors were more into leaving a wake devaluation of everyone around them. Charming! Finally, it it’s 90+ degrees, I’ve already been looking for any sanctuary with AC and will sit calmly, enjoy any company or a good book or scratching out new ideas with crayons on the walls. Best that I have a book or notepad I guess. Thanks for the visit. Am so glad you’re safe after that tire adventure. I’d love to know what the projectile really was.
    Blessings.

    • I know! The tire guys said they never see that. I have no idea what we actually ran over. It was a black box of some hard substance. A truck shredded his tire a couple minutes after us when he ran over it. I like the crayons on the wall idea! I have a friend who has a white board on her wall just for her thinking and making notes while she is on the phone. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

  2. I’m so sorry about the flat tire but so glad whatever caused it didn’t cause too much damage. I’m glad you were served well when you got the tire replaced.

As for writing, wow, writing everyday is so cool. I would really like to get into a daily writing habit too.
