Weekend Coffee Share

A Cup of Coffee and a Conversation

Welcome to Sunday! With the time warp also known as sheltering in place, the day snuck up on me. Today I have coffee with the hint of vanilla. There is black and also caramel mocha. It is like a mini coffee bar in here!

If we were having coffee I would tell you the transition from April to May was marked with tons of emails in my box. There are challenges I am doing in May which I knew would spike the number of messages a bit but there were a lot of people who wrote the first of the month. It was a bit overwhelming.

What do you do when you have too many emails?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I wrote an essay about missing the library on Thursday morning. While on my run the library called and said they were going to be offering no contact pick up of holds starting Monday! The universe granted my wish β€” at least within the shelter in place boundaries. Yes, books are an essential trip to make.

What is something you miss during this time?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I made my icon on my Gmail a llama for the sole purpose of showing a llama in the Zoom box when I turn my camera off. Yes, it is silly but it amuses me greatly.

When was the last time you did something for the sheer joy of it?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I had my first IG live! I was interviewed by the awesome Tim Cavey from Teachers On Fire.

Have you done Instagram lives before?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I wrote a lot in my notebook this week. I wrote to my daily prompts. I worked on my random sentences for the 100 day project. I logged my daily tarot card study β€” what I notice and then the more fleshed out story from my book. I made notes of things I want to remember from IG lives, books, and podcasts. I also wrote some snippets of poems with the 2 Sylvias poetry prompts for the last part of April. I also practiced doodles and Dani Shapiro’s 4 quadrant exercise. I played with other prompts from my prompt party with my writing group the Happy Campers.

What did you write in your notebook?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you the Slack for Storyaday has been buzzing with activity. With so many new people, everyone is talking. I am three stories in and on track for my goal of 30 stories for the month.

How are you connecting with others lately?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I started a new notebook today. My prep story course begins tomorrow and I have a special notebook just for that project (as recommended).

Do you have special projects where you use a tool JUST for that purpose?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that the energy challenge started on Friday hosted by Sam Kimberle. We log each day what gave us energy, what depleted us, and what we learned. It is a powerful exercise we do every 6 months.

What gave you energy today?

Thank you for chatting with me today! I am so glad we were able to have coffee. It does get me going in the morning. Have a wonderful week and I cannot wait to chat next time.

  1. Lol. Love the twist on having coffee. πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ˜Š”If you were to ask me how my day has started?” If we were having coffee I would tell you that while catching up on a few good blog reads I happened upon this GOOD READ called “Coffee Share” by Tammy B (The Accidental Inspirationalist) 😊
